Introduction to the Analysis and Visualization of Biological Networks with Cytoscape
Lausanne, 12-13 March 2012
This course will provide an introduction to the analysis and visualization of biological networks as well as a tutorial on Cytoscape, one of the common tools used in biology for network analysis. The course will cover the following main subjects:
- A Biological Network Taxonomy
- Analytical Approaches
- Visualization Approaches
- Introduction to Cytoscape
- Cytoscape use cases:
- Expression data analysis
- Clustering of protein-protein interaction networks
- Introduction to plugin development

Requirements:
Participants should bring their own laptops with Java 6 loaded.
Installers for Cytoscape and all necessary plugins and sample data sets will be provided.
Practical organization - Location
Sessions runs from 9:00 to 17:00 approximately, with a lunch break.
This two-day course is held at the University of Lausanne, Genopode building.
